"Murad Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum actually works on my hyperpigmented, 56 year old skin without drying it out or irritation. I’ve been using consistently and noticed results within the first 3 weeks - I’ve now been using it for about 10 weeks. Spots are fading dramatically and my skin is glowing and even toned. If you have concerns about skin sensitivity, we recommend applying a soothing or barrier-supporting cream after using the serum to help keep your skin comfortable and hydrated. Please also ensure that you apply SPF during the day, as sun exposure can increase skin sensitivity and may affect your results. Can I use this with my other face products.
Hi Pal L, Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum is a step 2 treat and repair step so you can incorporate this within your regime by following the 3 steps. Step 1 Cleanse and Tone with your favourite Murad Cleanser and toner, we would suggest Essential C Cleanser. Step 2 Treat and repair with Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum Step 3 Hydrate and Protect using either Correct and Protect Serum SPF 45 or Essential C Moisture SPF 30. Alternatively you can use one of your favourite moisturisers and follow with an SPF such as City Skin SPF 50. One rule to remember is never layer your step 2s but you can use them on different times of the day. Hope this helps answer your question.

What is the difference between this serum and Vita-C Glycolic serum? It seems that they both contain vitamin C and glycolic acid.
Both serums are quite different but address skin tone issues. Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum does not contain vitamin C but it does contain a patented resorsinol technology combined with tranexemic acid that works to reduce the appearance of existing dark spots, and melasma. Vita C Glycolic Serum contains Vita C technology that works on brightening, radiance and glow and helps even skin tone. In summary Rapid Dark Spot Correcting serum is more for correcting dark spots that have already appeared and provides luminosity, it's also ideal for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation whereas Vita C Glycolic Serum is best as a preventative treatment that boosts radiance and glow and evens skin tone. You can use the Vita C Glycolic serum for day and Rapid Dark Spot at night time if you wanted the best of both worlds. Always follow with a mosituriser and an SPF for day time.
Hi, is there anything that you shouldn’t combine/use with this serum. For example can you use retinol in the same routine? and should I use a hydration serum before or after? Thanks
We don't recommend layering our step 2 serums as they are designed to be used alone. But you can use them at different times. So for example you could use your Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum in the morning and your Retinol Serum at night time. You can also follow Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum with the Retinol Night Cream and get the best of both worlds! For the Hydration Serum you could use that one for day time and Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum at night (but do not layer).
