One very important thing to note: because retinal increases cell turnover, it can also make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so it is essential to apply SPF to your body. - Hi Susan, You don't have to shower before applying this product, but Dr Murad suggests that a warm bath or shower prior to application is helpful, and he also recommends body brushing with a soft bristle body brush before bathing to stimulate the skin and help remove toxins. These are optional steps you can include or simply apply to your skin at night time and shower the next morning.
